Tumpex realiza ação de educação ambiental em Manaus

Com foco em sensibilizar e orientar a população sobre o descarte correto e a destinação dos resíduos sólidos domiciliares, a Tumpex, empresa de coleta de lixo em Manaus, em parceria com a Secretaria Municipal de Limpeza Pública (Semulsp), está realizando uma ação de educação ambiental em escolas, feiras, bairros, supermercados, praças públicas, entre outros espaços da capital amazonense.

“A educação ambiental é um processo por meio do qual o indivíduo e a coletividade constroem valores sociais, conhecimentos, habilidades, atitudes e competências voltadas para a conservação do meio ambiente, bem como de uso comum do povo, essencial à qualidade de vida da população. Com esse trabalho de conscientização ambiental, acreditamos que as orientações podem se tornar hábitos no dia a dia das pessoas e que podem salvar vidas”, afirma Marcus Melo, gerente administrativo da Tumpex.

Atualmente, a equipe de sensibilização tem desenvolvido trabalhos de cunho informativo sobre o horário e descarte correto de resíduos, em áreas de difícil acesso como rip-rap’s e áreas de ocupação irregular. A Tumpex e Semulsp prospectam que os resultados da conscientização ambiental sejam alcançados em médio e longo prazos.

Para que a ação seja eficaz, as equipes usam como estratégias: palestras, campanhas, oficinas temáticas, teatros e panfletagens, destinadas à sensibilização, capacitação de multiplicadores e o envolvimento da população local, instituições governamentais e terceiro setor, como as organizações não governamentais.

As ações começaram a ser desenvolvidas com atividades no Centro de Manaus. Em média, 7 mil abordagens sobre educação ambiental são realizadas por mês. Cerca de 35 colaboradores capacitados sobre educação ambiental fazem parte da equipe de profissionais que realizam as ações semanalmente nos diversos pontos de Manaus.

Megaoperação

Na última quarta-feira (06/03), equipes especializadas da Tumpex participaram da megaoperação de recolhimento de pneus em toda a cidade, realizada pela Semulsp. A iniciativa, denominada “Dia D”, retirou 52 mil pneus das vias. O número equivale a, aproximadamente, 33 toneladas de material.

A conscientização da população moradora do bairro e adjacências também fez parte do evento, realizada por equipes especializadas da Tumpex que visitaram residências e estabelecimentos comerciais, orientando moradores e comerciantes sobre a forma correta de descarte de lixo, incluindo pneus e outros materiais que possam servir de criadouro para mosquitos.

Com a participação de 15 caminhões e mais de cem trabalhadores, a ação retirou das ruas mais de 50 mil pneus que, frequentemente, são descartados de forma inadequada, contribuindo para a proliferação de doenças como dengue e outras enfermidades transmitidas por vetores.
