Uma das maiores potências do carnaval amazonense viveu neste fim de semana mais um capítulo histórico de sua trajetória. A tradicional escola de samba realizou a eleição que definiu a nova diretoria responsável por conduzir os destinos da agremiação pelos próximos três anos. Foram 314 votos validos. 171 a 143.
A chapa vencedora foi a Chapa 01, encabeçada por Rangel Magalhães, reeleito presidente, tendo João Tomé como vice-presidente. A dupla da continuidade à missão de manter viva a tradição de uma escola que carrega no peito a paixão de milhares de torcedores e sambistas espalhados por Manaus e pelo Amazonas.
Supercampeã do carnaval de Manaus, a Reino Unido da Liberdade construiu ao longo das décadas uma história marcada por títulos, desfiles memoráveis e sambas-enredo que atravessaram gerações. A agremiação se consolidou como símbolo de resistência cultural, criatividade e identidade popular, tornando-se uma das mais respeitadas escolas de samba da região Norte.
Com uma trajetória recheada de conquistas, a Reino Unido ajudou a escrever páginas inesquecíveis da folia amazonense, emocionando o público com enredos grandiosos, alegorias impactantes e interpretações históricas que ficaram eternizadas na memória do sambista manauara.
A apuração dos votos, iniciada às 17h, também foi marcada por forte emoção. Antes da divulgação oficial do resultado, a escola prestou uma homenagem especial a grandes nomes que ajudaram a construir a história da agremiação e que já partiram, mas permanecem eternizados no coração da comunidade.
Entre os homenageados estavam Luizinho Sá, Chico Bossa, Zé Picanço, Sabazinho Artezão, Nego Dico e Junior LayOut, além de outros baluartes que dedicaram parte de suas vidas à construção da grandeza da Reino Unido da Liberdade.
O momento emocionou associados, antigos componentes e membros da comunidade presentes na sede da escola. Muitos relembraram histórias, carnavais históricos e a dedicação daqueles que contribuíram para transformar a Reino Unido em uma referência do samba amazonense.
Após a confirmação da vitória, Rangel Magalhães agradeceu a confiança dos associados e destacou a importância da união para os próximos anos da escola.
Quem também se pronunciou foi Ivan de Oliveira, radialista e ex-presidente da Reino Unido da Liberdade. Em sua fala, Ivan destacou a importância da democracia dentro da agremiação e reforçou que, acima de qualquer disputa eleitoral, a prioridade deve ser sempre a própria escola.
“A democracia foi respeitada e isso engrandece ainda mais a nossa Reino Unido. A eleição terminou e agora o mais importante é a escola. Não pode existir divisão interna. Independente de quem venceu, todos precisam caminhar juntos pelo fortalecimento da Reino Unido da Liberdade”, destacou Ivan de Oliveira.
A declaração foi bastante aplaudida pelos presentes e reforçou o clima de união e respeito vivido durante o processo eleitoral.
A nova diretoria assume em um momento importante para o carnaval de Manaus, com o desafio de fortalecer ainda mais a agremiação, ampliar projetos sociais e culturais e preparar a Reino Unido para novos títulos na avenida.
