Em 2023, o Bolsa Esporte Estadual, patrocínio oferecido pelo Governo do Amazonas, por meio da Secretaria de Estado do Desporto e Lazer (Sedel), contemplou 131 atletas e paratletas, divididos nas categorias de base, alto rendimento e olímpico/paralímpico. Abrangendo mais de 30 modalidades esportivas, com 124 desportistas na capital e 7 no interior, sendo 86 homens e 44 mulheres, o benefício serviu de impulsionamento ao esporte amazonense para conseguir títulos em nível mundial.
“O Bolsa Esporte não é apenas um investimento em atletas individuais, mas sim um compromisso com o desenvolvimento do esporte em nossa região. Estamos construindo uma base sólida para o futuro e elevando o padrão competitivo em todas as modalidades”, disse Jorge Oliveira, secretário da Sedel.
Na categoria de base, foram 60 jovens aptos a receber o patrocínio. Destaque para Caio Arcos, da natação, que também faz parte do Projeto Amazonas nas Olimpíadas de Paris 2024, e foi o primeiro nadador amazonense a chegar em uma final do Troféu Brasil em 23 anos, além de quebrar o recorde dos 200 metros nado livre, recorde que perdurava desde 1998.
No alto rendimento são 44 atletas e 19 paratletas, distribuídos em 21 categorias. Um dos integrantes da categoria é Jair Paulino, Jajá do Wake, que conquistou o Campeonato Mundial de Wakeboard e que detém 24 títulos em sua carreira. Joelso Pimenta, do powerlifting também está inserido no alto rendimento, conquistou neste mês de novembro o Powerlifting World Championship 2023, desbancando atletas da Venezuela, Paraguai, República Tcheca, Índia e Bielorrússia.
Já o rendimento olímpico/paralímpico, conta com oito atletas patrocinados nas modalidades de halterofilismo, tiro com arco, tiro esportivo e atletismo. Três medalhistas nos Jogos Pan e Parapan-Americanos de Santiago fazem parte deste grupo. Pedro Nunes, conquistou a prata no lançamento de dardo. No halterofilismo, Maria de Fátima conquistou o bronze e Lucas dos Santos foi ouro.
“O Bolsa Esporte foi muito importante para o desenvolvimento do meu trabalho, o meu desempenho melhorou muito. Agradeço muito ao Governo do Amazonas pelo apoio, ele é importante também para desenvolver o esporte tanto na base como no alto rendimento. Se não fosse pelo patrocínio seria muito difícil competir com os atletas de fora, só tenho a agradecer” exaltou Lucas dos Santos.
