Lei assegura bem-estar e autoestima de vítimas de escalpelamento

Uma particularidade da região Amazônica, o escalpelamento, ganha
um forte auxílio na busca pelo bem-estar e pela autoestima a partir da
Lei nº 6.775/2024, que estabelece o fornecimento de peruca às
pessoas vítimas do arrancamento brusco e acidental do couro cabeludo
(escalpo). A Lei tem a coautoria do deputado estadual Roberto Cidade
(UB), presidente da Assembleia Legislativa do Amazonas (Aleam), e do
vice-presidente da Casa, deputado Carlinhos Bessa (PV).

“Infelizmente esse é um grave problema de saúde pública na nossa
região e que merece a nossa total atenção. Tenho grande satisfação
de ser coautor dessa matéria ao lado do deputado Carlinhos Bessa,
autor primário desta Lei. É importante que possamos prestar auxílio às
pessoas vítimas desse tipo de acidente, que deixa muitas sequelas
físicas e emocionais”, afirmou Cidade.

De acordo com a Lei, fica assegurado o fornecimento de peruca às
pessoas vítimas de escalpelamento no Estado do Amazonas. O
acessório será fornecido aos usuários dos serviços de saúde ligados ao
Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS).

Estabelece, ainda, que as instituições de saúde ligadas ao SUS
poderão captar doações de perucas visando à organização de um
banco de perucas para posterior distribuição às pessoas vítimas de
escalpelamento. As despesas decorrentes da execução desta Lei
correrão à conta das dotações orçamentárias próprias, suplementadas
se necessário.

Amazonas ocupa 2º lugar no número de vítimas

Conforme estudos da Fundação Amazônia de Amparo e Pesquisa
(Fadespa), os três estados que registram ocorrências de
escalpelamentos no país são Pará, Amazonas e Amapá, sendo a maior
incidência no estado paraense.
A explicação está no fato de a bacia Amazônica concentrar os maiores
rios do mundo, como o Amazonas, Tapajós, Trombetas e,
consequentemente, pelo uso das comunidades tradicionais e
ribeirinhas para percorrer as extensões dos rios a bordo de
embarcações.
O estudo da Fadespa identificou que as mulheres correspondem a 98%
das vítimas, sendo que 67% delas são crianças e adolescentes, entre 2
e 18 anos de idade.
Sequelas
As consequências do escalpelamento são muito graves e variam
conforme as áreas afetadas no acidente, como crânio, pálpebras,
orelhas e face.
As principais sequelas incluem dores de cabeça ou cervicais crônicas,
dificuldade na audição, fala e visão. Essas disfunções comprometem a
qualidade de vida, o lazer e o emprego das vítimas, que muitas vezes
ficam impossibilitadas de trabalhar.
Recomendações
>> nunca arme rede ou sente de cabelos soltos perto do motor;
>> prenda os cabelos, coloque um boné ou chapéu;
>> evite usar colares ou cordões;
>> mantenha as crianças sempre junto de você.
