Bancos comunitários de mudas e sementes é LEI !

Para fortalecer a agricultura familiar sustentável e diminuir a falta de insumos na retomada de plantios das safras, o Governo do Amazonas, por meio da Secretaria de Estado de Produção Rural (Sepror), estabelece diretrizes, dispostas na Lei N.°7.199, para o incentivo à formação de bancos comunitários de mudas e sementes.

A lei sancionada no dia 28 de novembro pelo governador Wilson Lima, é de iniciativa  do deputado estadual Adjuto Afonso (União Brasil). A finalidade é fortalecer os sistemas agrícolas no Amazonas, na distribuição, troca ou comercialização de mudas e sementes, a colação de germoplasmas de cultivares locais ou crioulos.

De acordo com o secretário de estado da Produção Rural (Sepror), Daniel Borges, o objetivo é multiplicar a produção de mudas e sementes nativas da mais alta qualidade, nos municípios do interior que tem vocação as culturas de determinada produção e, também, prevenir a perda de produção nas safras, com um estoque de reposição de insumos.

“Estamos seguindo a determinação do governador Wilson Lima, interiorizando a matriz econômica voltada ao setor primário, com o objetivo de gerar mais renda aos agricultores familiares”, ressalta Daniel.

O projeto tem o objetivo de apoiar a agricultura familiar no desenvolvimento de sementes e mudas nativas, com um estoque comunitário, gerenciado coletivamente pelos produtores, em locais apropriados, para fortalecer o setor primário de municípios de acordo com a resiliência de cada cultura.

O estoque de mudas e sementes vai possibilitar a retomada de plantios afetados por intempéries climáticas, como a forte chuva e a estiagem, além de ampliar a distribuição de sementes e mudas nativas, adaptadas ou produzidas por agricultores familiares.

Fomento de mudas

Em 2024, a Sepror, em parceria com o Instituto de Desenvolvimento Agropecuário e Florestal Sustentável (Idam), e a Agência de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ADS), entregou 41,1 mil mudas de citros (laranja e limão), e 31,5 mil mudas de café robustas amazônico, totalizando mais de 2,4 mil produtores rurais beneficiados em 22 municípios do Amazonas.
