(UOL/Folhapress) – O advogado Raul Rodrigues Costa Lages, réu pelo homicídio qualificado da namorada, Carolina da Cunha Pereira França Magalhães, 40, vai a júri popular, decidiu nesta segunda-feira (20) a Justiça de Minas Gerais.
O acusado poderá recorrer da sentença em liberdade. Ainda não há data para o júri ser realizado.
Raul Rodrigues Costa Lages se tornou réu por homicídio qualificado mais de dois anos após o crime. Ele é acusado de ter atirado a namorada do 8º andar de um prédio em junho de 2022.
A morte de Carolina foi inicialmente tratada como suicídio. Mas investigações da Polícia Civil de Minas Gerais apontaram a possibilidade de ela ter sido assassinada pelo próprio namorado.
Imagens de câmeras de segurança mudaram rumo das investigações. Os vídeos mostram que o réu poderia estar dentro do apartamento na hora do crime. Em depoimento, no entanto, ele havia afirmado que estava no elevador e ouviu um “forte barulho”, que achou ser uma batida de trânsito — mas era da queda de Carolina.
Raul Lages alega inocência. Em agosto deste ano, ele prestou um novo depoimento por videoconferência e voltou a negar a autoria do crime. A defesa dele disse que vai apresentar provas de que ele é inocente.
Para polícia, o advogado agrediu a namorada dentro do apartamento. Depois disso, ao perceber que ela estava desacordada, Lages teria jogado o corpo da mulher pela varanda. O casal tinha uma relação conturbada.
Namoro conflituoso
Imagens mostram que Raul ficou poucos segundos ao lado do corpo e saiu apressado em direção ao carro. Ele deixa o prédio logo após ser avisado sobre a queda pelo porteiro, caminha até o carro, sai com o veículo, mas para em frente ao edifício minutos depois, assim que uma viatura do Samu chega ao local.
Ao voltar para o prédio, Raul aparenta desespero ao lado dos socorristas. Ele mexe no telefone, anda de um lado para o outro e se senta com as mãos na cabeça.
Filhos de Carolina chegaram ao prédio pouco após a chegada do Samu. Os dois tinham saído do apartamento pouco antes de a mãe cair.
Para a família da advogada, a movimentação de Raul sinaliza uma tentativa de fuga. “Ele vai em direção ao carro, guarda mochila e sacolas no porta-malas, arranca o carro e no momento em que as luzes do giroflex do Samu despontam na esquina ele para, sai correndo e entra no prédio antes do Samu”, afirmou o irmão, Demian Magalhães, ao UOL.
Em caso de violência, denuncie
Ao presenciar um episódio de agressão contra mulheres, ligue para 190 e denuncie.
Casos de violência doméstica são, na maior parte das vezes, cometidos por parceiros ou ex-companheiros das mulheres, mas a Lei Maria da Penha também pode ser aplicada em agressões cometidas por familiares.
Também é possível realizar denúncias pelo número 180 – Central de Atendimento à Mulher – e do Disque 100, que apura violações aos direitos humanos.
