Flamengo anuncia novo tecnico, dessa vez um espanhol

“Olá, sou Domènec e estou muito feliz por fazer parte desta grande nação. Vamos lutar para ganhar títulos e nos vemos em breve. Muito obrigado”. Com estas palavras, Domènec Torrent se apresentou à torcida do Flamengo em um vídeo postado pelo clube no canal FLA TV, no Youtube, e no Twiiter, para anunciar a contratação do técnico.

 

O catalão assinou contrato de um ano e meio e chega ao Brasil ainda sesta semana para começar o trabalho, de olho na estreia do Flamengo no Campeonato Brasileiro, no dia 9 de agosto, no Maracanã, contra o Atlético-MG.

Domènec Torrent tem 58 anos e vai enfrentar o maior desafio da carreira: comandar o atual campeão brasileiro e da Libertadores, com a maior torcida do país. Após anos trabalhando como auxiliar de Pep Guardiola no Barcelona, Bayern de Munique e Manchester City, Torrent dirigiu o New York City, dos Estados Unidos. Apesar do crescimento do esporte nos EUA, o técnico agora vai dirigir um dos maiores clubes do “país do futebol”. Antes de ser assistente de Guardiola, Torrent já havia comandado Palamós, Palafrugell e Girona.

A contratação de Doménec Torrent demorou. O vice-presidente de futebol do Flamengo, Marcos Braz, e o diretor-executivo de futebol Bruno Spindel, embarcaram na última sexta-feira (24) para a Europa com a expectativa de conversar com técnicos e voltar com a definição do novo comandante rubro-negro.Dentre as possibilidades, além de Torrent, outro favorito era Carlos Carvalhal, mas o português acertou com o Braga.

Durante toda a semana, a torcida rubro-negra acompanhou as notícias das negociações dos diretores com os técnicos, e vibrava pelas redes sociais. A cada dia que passava, a contratação de Domenéc Torrent parecia mais perto, e o clube oficializou a assinatura de contrato nesta sexta-feira, exatamente sete dias após o embarque para a Europa.

O entusiasmo com a chegada do novo técnico catalão fez até o Rubro-Negro lançar outra conta oficial no Twitter, só que em idioma espanhol.
