Como foi amplamente divulgado nos jornais e redes sociais, o Municipio  de São Paulo de Olivença (distante 985 quilômetros em linha reta de Manaus) sofreu um abalo da natureza NO DIA 02 DE OUTUBRO. Um forte vendaval passou por lá e deixou grande destruição patrimonial incluindo a CATEDRAL da cidade( igreja de São Paulo Apóstolo). Para ajudar na reconstrução da mesma,  os filhos da terra que vivem em Manaus, estão promovendo um evento em prol dessa causa, uma Feijoada com várias atrações musicais que pretende reunir os PAULIVENSES  e assim , alem de angariar fundos, aumentar o numero de voluntários para essa causa! Parte de igreja desaba durante temporal em São Paulo de Olivença (PORTAL ACRITICA)

Segundo morador do município, o forte temporal durou aproximadamente 30 minutos. Os ventos ainda arrancaram telhas de casa e causaram a suspensão do serviço de energia elétrica


Um forte temporal atingiu o municipio de São Paulo de Olivença (distante 985 quilômetros em linha reta de Manaus) na tarde desta quarta-feira (2) e causou prejuízos. Os ventos destelharam casas, derrubaram a facha da igreja de São Paulo Apóstolo, localizado na área central da cidade e, ainda, causaram a suspensão do fornecimento de energia.

Segundo o professor da rede estadual, Genival Rodrigues, de 41 anos, residente em São Paulo de Olivença, toda a cidade está sem energia. Ele conta que os fortes ventos começaram no início da tarde, seguidos da forte chuva. “O bairro mais prejudicado foi o José Carlos Mestrinho. Andei pela cidade e as ruas que envolta da igreja estão enterditadas”, relatou o professor.

O secretário de obras de São Paulo de Olivença, Diego Mafra, informou que, emergencialmente, equipes trabalham na limpeza das ruas. “As telhas estão sendo retiradas das vias. A Defesa Civil localizada aqui está contabilizando os estragos para que a prefeitura possa auxiliar os moradores. Ainda não temos um número fechado”, pontuou.

A reportagem entrou em contato com a Defesa Civil do Estado, por meio de assessoria, para saber se haverá intervenção no município, mas, até a publicação desta matéria, não obteve retorno.

Um deslizamento de terra provocado pela seca nos rios da Amazônia voltou a ser registrado na madrugada desta segunda-feira na cidade de São Paulo de Olivença (a 988 km oeste de Manaus). A ação destruiu ao menos 70 casas. Não há registros de feridos ou mortos. Trinta e duas pessoas estão abrigadas em escolas públicas da cidade.

São Paulo de Olivença foi fundada em uma faixa de terra margeada pelo rio Solimões. Atualmente, o rio enfrenta uma seca histórica por causa da estiagem. A prefeitura decretou situação de emergência. A falta de água potável é o maior problema do município.

Segundo o coordenador da Defesa Civil local, Edivilson Braga, o deslizamento aconteceu em uma faixa de terra de pelo menos um quilômetro de extensão e altura variando entre 30 metros a 60 metros. Ele diz que a região é residencial, mas um reforço policial foi solicitado à cidade vizinha de Tabatinga. “Populares ameaçam saquear os supermercados”, afirmou.

Em agosto, em outra parte de São Paulo de Olivença, um deslizamento ocorreu em uma faixa de terra de 700 metros de comprimento e 15 metros de altura. Cerca de cem famílias foram retiradas das casas.

A Defesa Civil informou que o deslizamento nas margens dos rios é conhecido como o fenômeno de terras caídas e ocorre, geralmente, no período da vazante, no verão amazônico, que inicia em junho e se encerra no mês novembro. A velocidade da correnteza dos rios é o que provoca o desprendimento das terras das margens, levando-as para outros lugares.
