Marcada pela presença de mais de 800 torcedores, entre pais, amigos e admiradores, foi iniciada, no Estádio Floro de Mendonça, a 1ª Copa de Futebol Infanto-Juvenil Cidade de Itacoatiara, que contará com a participação de 23 times das categorias Sub-14 e Sub-17 que abriram o evento com desfile das equipes, neste domingo (22/04), do qual participaram integrantes do grupamento policial mirim do 2º Batalhão de Polícia Militar (BPM) sediado naquela cidade, localizada na Região Metropolitana de Manaus, a 170 quilômetros da capital, em linha reta.
Os mais de 600 atletas, entre crianças e adolescentes, demonstraram enorme felicidade pelo apoio que receberam dos organizadores e dos pais, amigos e admiradores que compareceram para prestigiar a solenidade. Logo, após a abertura, ocorreu o primeiro jogo na categoria Sub-17, entre o 2º BPM e o Estrela da Manhã, com vitória do Estrela. Apesar da derrota dentro de campo, a Comissão Técnica do 2º BPM disse estar muito feliz por ver a alegria estampada no rosto dos garotos pela oportunidade de vivenciar um projeto de vida.
A presença da equipe juvenil do 2º BPM recebeu o apoio do comandante da unidade, major PM Castro Alves, que vê no evento uma sadia maneira de proporcionar a aproximação entre a Polícia Militar e a comunidade. “O futebol é o esporte que mais une os brasileiros e como é também indicativo de saúde e harmonia, o torneio será sem dúvidas uma ferramenta a mais para proporcionar o bem estar entre a sociedade e a Polícia Militar”, reconheceu o oficial.
