Mais de 120 atletas participaram do 8º Torneio de Atletismo na Vila Olímpica


A pista de atletismo da Vila Olímpica de Manaus, localizado na avenida Pedro Teixeira, bairro Dom Pedro, zona centro-oeste, recebeu, na tarde deste sábado (01/06), mais de 120 atletas nas disputas do 8º Torneio de Atletismo de Manaus. A competição foi realizada pela Federação Desportiva de Atletismo do Estado do Amazonas (Fedaeam) e contou com o apoio da Secretária de Estado de Juventude, Esportes e Lazer (Sejel).

“O número de inscritos, a maioria adolescentes, mostra que a base do atletismo está sendo trabalhada a partir das competições da federação. Para termos sucesso em qualquer modalidade, é necessário construirmos a base. A Federação está de parabéns, afinal, está no caminho certo”, comentou o secretário da Sejel, Caio André de Oliveira.

A competição premiou os atletas que chegaram ao 1º, 2º e 3º lugares das categorias disputadas, porém, também serviu para somar pontos para o ranking nacional de atletismo. O torneio recebeu, além de atletas das escolas de Manaus, que acabaram usando a competição como treino para os Jogos Escolares do Amazonas (JEAs) atletas do estado de Roraima e dos municípios de Itacoatiara e Parintins.

A presidente da Fedaeam, Marleide Borges confirmou o quanto as categorias de base estiveram presente no Torneio. “Nós tivemos vários inscritos na categoria infantil (12 a 14 anos) e juvenil (15 a 17) e eles fizeram bonito. Há um trabalho bom dentro das escolas e eles já provaram um pouco do pode ser o JEAs” falou Marleide ao destacar o sucesso da competição.

“Foi uma competição muito boa, levando em consideração que estávamos com um maior número de atletas de base, e avaliamos a questão técnica, o que foi visto em bom nível. Os atletas das provas de resistência também surpreenderam. Com a soma desses quesitos, podemos dizer que o 8º Torneio de Atletismo de Manaus, foi um sucesso” concluiu.
