Nove medalhas, dois troféus e duas convocações para o Campeonato Mundial Universitário de Praia. Esse foi o saldo inédito do Amazonas nos Jogos Universitários Brasileiros (JUBs) Praia 2024, que encerrou sua participação neste domingo (25/08). A competição, que é organizada pela Confederação Brasileira de Desporto Universitário (CBDU), foi realizada no Rio de Janeiro.
Ao todo, 67 pessoas fizeram parte da delegação amazonense, que fez história e conquistou o maior número de medalhas na competição desde a sua primeira participação, em 2021.
Foram quatro outros, sendo três na modalidade beach wrestling e um na categoria mista do beach tennis; uma medalha de prata para o basquete 3×3; e quatro bronzes pelo beach wrestling, beach tennis e vôlei 4×4 misto.
Para a vice-presidente Regional Norte da CBDU e presidente da Federação Amazonense Universitária de Desporto (Faud), Lilian Valente, esse feito inédito representa uma importante conquista para o Amazonas.
“Cada ano o nível de competição aumenta e nossos atletas se dedicam ao máximo para estar competindo em alto nível junto aos demais estados, e o resultado tem dado frutos. Quero agradecer a cada atleta, dirigente e instituição de ensino por acreditarem no esporte universitário e se permitirem sonhar e realizar junto à Faud. Essa conquista é de todos nós”, destacou.
Premiação geral – Além das medalhas, o Amazonas garantiu ainda dois troféus no ranking geral, por instituição de ensino, pela modalidade beach tennis.
Com os resultados obtidos pelos competidores amazonenses, que representaram a Universidade Nilton Lins (Uninilton Lins), a instituição alcançou o primeiro lugar na classificação geral da modalidade por Instituição de Ensino Superior (IES), tanto no naipe feminino, quanto no masculino.
Convocação – E para fechar com chave de ouro os resultados da modalidade beach wrestling, o Amazonas garantiu duas convocações para o Campeonato Mundial Universitário de Praia, também chamado de Fisu Beach Sports, que será realizado de 2 a 8 de setembro, no Rio de Janeiro.
Os atletas Elivaldo Feitosa, da Uninilton Lins, e Viviane Bentes, do Centro Universitário do Norte (Uninorte), foram campeões dos JUBs Praia nas categorias -80kg e -60kg, respectivamente, e garantiram a vaga para o mundial.
