O ministro da Casa Civil, Rui Costa, reagiu às pressões do setor financeiro classificando-as como um “ataque especulativo” ao Real. Ele destacou dados econômicos positivos, como a redução do nível de desemprego, o crescimento do Produto Interno Bruto (PIB) e a expansão dos investimentos para sustentar que fatos como a alta do dólar frente à moeda brasileira não encontram amparo na realidade.
“Ou seja, é um cenário extremamente positivo. Mas do outro lado, temos um cenário imaginário, de especuladores, que não dá para compreender. De pessoas que colocam o desejo de auferir lucros extraordinários, tentando elevar artificialmente o preço do dólar [e, consequentemente, encarecer] as condições de vida das pessoas”, declarou o ministro ao participar de uma reunião do Conselho Consultivo do Sistema Brasileiro de Inteligência (Consisbin), em Brasília.
Para Costa, as pressões também sugerem haver interesses eleitoreiros. “Como são dois cenários muito diferentes, passa-se uma ideia como se quisessem antecipar o cenário de [disputa eleitoral de] 2026. Parece-me muito mais uma atuação com perfil político, eleitoral, já que a vida real, os números reais, não correspondem a esse ataque especulativo que estamos sofrendo”, comentou o ministro, assegurando que o presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva e a equipe do governo federal estão “serenos”.
“Esperamos que, em pouco tempo, esses que fazem ataque especulativo passem, seja pelo prejuízo que vão ter, seja por [força do] convencimento, [por] acreditarem em nosso país”, finalizou Costa.
