O cientista político Alberto Carlos de Almeida fez uma comparação dos índices de popularidade dos presidentes que disputaram reeleição desde o primeiro, Fernando Henrique Cardoso. E constatou que o presidente Jair Bolsonaro é, de longe, o mais mal avaliado entre os presidentes que tentaram a reeleição desde que o instituto foi aprovado.

Alberto Carlos de Almeida valeu-se do mesmo período – março do ano da reeleição -e do mesmo instituto, o Datafolha, para que não houvesse entre os levantamentos nem diferença de período nem de metodologia.
