A Caixa anunciou nesta terça-feira (20) que suspendeu a cobrança do Pix para pessoa jurídica. A taxa começaria a valer no dia 19 de julho e, segundo o banco público, é praticada por “praticamente todas as instituições financeiras”. 
A suspensão veio depois de pedido do presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, conforme divulgou mais cedo o ministro da Casa Civil, Rui Costa. Segundo o ministro, a decisão será discutida na próxima semana, após o retorno de Lula da viagem oficial à Europa.
“Foi pedido que suspendesse temporariamente [a decisão da Caixa] até o presidente estar de volta semana que vem”, afirmou Costa em rápida entrevista a jornalistas. “Então vamos aguardar o retorno do presidente para avaliar essa medida. O presidente que pediu.”
Em nota, o banco diz que a suspensão “visa ampliar o prazo para que os clientes possam se adequar e receber amplo esclarecimento do banco sobre o assunto, dada a proliferação de conteúdos inverídicos que geraram especulação”
Cobrança
Costa disse ter conversado com a presidenta da Caixa, Rita Serrano. Segundo o ministro, ela se surpreendeu com a repercussão da medida porque os demais bancos tarifam as operações Pix de pessoas jurídicas, com autorização do Banco Central (BC).
“A informação que ela [Rita Serrano] me passou foi a de que todos os bancos já cobram essa taxa de empresas de pessoa jurídica. O único banco que não cobrava era a Caixa por questão técnica, de tecnologia”, explicou. “Ela não esperava que tivesse esse alcance, essa repercussão, a definição da Caixa em acompanhar os outros bancos.”
Na noite desta segunda-feira (19), a Caixa anunciou o início da cobrança de Pix de pessoas jurídicas em 19 de julho. O banco desmentiu falsas notícias de que pessoas físicas também seriam tarifadas.
“A Caixa não realiza cobrança de tarifa Pix de seus clientes pessoa física, de microempreendedores individuais (MEI) e de beneficiários de programas sociais”, destacou o comunicado.
O banco também ressaltou que a cobrança de Pix de empresas é autorizada desde a criação da ferramenta, em novembro de 2020, e que oferecerá uma das menores tarifas do mercado.
